#WAAC Space Marine Raffle

Well this year we are doing great thank you to everyone that has donated so far (over half way to the total). Excitingly I have some great giveaways coming up. Thanks to a lovely young man who posted what feels like his entire hobby collection to me to raise money for WAAC :O

Like what I am now raffling off is only about a third of what I am still sat ready to bounce on everyone 🙂

So here it is a lovely Space Marine army, that is an absolute hodge-podge of new minis and some really classics in there!

Black Library Print Raffle for #WAAC

That is a mouth of a title…

So first raffle of the year, and it is a very very nice one as I have 2 prizes to give away.

A huge thanks to Jamie (@_hotrodthug) on twitter for doing the leg work for me and also to the authors that agreed to sign the artwork.

These include Nik Kyme, Gav Thorpe, John French and Ray Harrison. Which is absolutely fantastic 🙂

Here are the prints you can win, child is for scale and apparently is not also up for raffle (something to do with bad parenting 😉 )

This years aim is to hit the £18000 barrier and I am hoping we can achieve that.

For those who have never come across WAAC before;

In 2014 I lost my Mum to Cancer, the MacMillan Nurses were amazing in looking after my Mum but also my Dad and I wanted to give back to them. Thanks to everyones help we have been doing that ever since and as I have said we are well on our way to hit £18000 in those 4 years!!!

Beared-itorial

Been awhile since we have an update, honestly been getting my head down as I am off to Warhammer World in November for a massive game of 40k. Imperium versus everyone else 🙂 Which means we are all furiously painting to get up to speed, I am currently sat at about 3500 pts painted with still some big kits to go. Yes, yes I have Mortarion the beast of a model that he is so 😛

Lots happening since I last waffled, with some game companies shutting doors but the IP lives on with new companies which is super cool as Relics and Dystopian Wars have a place on peoples tables!

We then have the new Fallout game up for pre-order (not kickstarter :O ) which is looking pretty cool and I know a few people already very tempted by it.

Games This Week

No other games this week I am afraid. Although I have to say with all the death guard painting I am getting interested in my other systems again, as is always the case. Need to concentrate on one thing oh look at that over there…

Hobby This Week

Lots and lots of Death guard work has been going on, I will be ready for painting something else very very soon though. But I want a lot of stuff ready to go for November..

#WAAC Black Library Raffle

The generosity of strangers is an amazing thing really and WAAC has certainly started something that makes me incredibly proud of this hobby community!!

So a very nice young man called Jamie (aka @_hotrodthug on Twitter go follow him) has donated 2 Black Library prints (around the A3 size) which you can see below.

Now the hope is that these will become signed Black Library prints and it is something we are working on achieving (if there is someone in particular you would like to sign but them in our direction ;))

Anyway for those that have not come across WAAC before a quick catch up.

Beared-itorial

So I survived my first Dark Age event and I came last….Wooooooooooo a Spoon 🙂

Honestly I enjoyed my 3 games and if not for 2 dice rolls I may have got some wins in, honest!

Game 1 vs Air Caste; This was a first go against Dragryi and also against the infamous Yovanka. In the end I couldn’t deal with her side-step and I wasnt fast enough (perhaps not aggressive enough) to deal with the Air Caste and I came away 6-10 down.

Game 2 vs Outcasts(Slavers); very tit-for-tat game which was particularly high on the kill count in which I lost 9-10. But came down to initiative roll, win that and I could have claimed a secondary mission to put me to 10! But alas I failed and Cabbie went down to 2 critical hits to take the game away from me.

Game 3 vs Forsaken (Saint Luke); another brutal game which had exploding firestorms and who doesn’t love a firework show! In the end my supreme war captain if he could have passed an above average armour save he would have survived Luke and been able to claim me some Secondary objectives but alas it was not to be and I went down 7-10.

Cabbie died in every game and I knew he was a risk as he just draws so much firepower his way but I have never seen him go down so often, the tank wasnt so tanky for this time.

I am looking forward to more events for Dark Age in the future and I have some Dragryi and Skarrd to get painted up and playing.

Hobby This Week

Work continues with the death guard, with some of the transports and tanks getting some love. I have also been on a basing mission trying to get my scenic bases ready for when I actually build some models..
